Collecting & Peeling

IMG_3218.JPG

Super Crayon Kids collects used and unwanted crayons from elementary schools, restaurants, and families who want to don't want used crayons to go in a landfill.

When crayons are received, they are sorted by color and placed into bags to distribute to volunteers who will peel off the labels. Peeling takes a lot of time and many volunteers in the community.

In 2020, volunteer Malik Zekri saw a need for a more efficient way to peel crayons. With a 3D printer, he made an invention to help slice off the labels. This invention is included in peeling packs and has helped speed up peeling process.
